Operational efficiency

Increasing the operational efficiency of a fleet is always a topic of high importance and relevant to improving the total cost of ownership (TCO). Many aspects could help to be more efficient - vehicle health status, driving behaviour, preventive actions due to early alerts, fuel management, and many more.
At Traffilog, we deliver solutions to different sizes and types of fleets. Some of the most common solutions are the gathering of real-time data and detailed notifications sent to fleet managers via the web or mobile applications or BI reporting. Another great example is driver feedback either in real-time via the smart driver maneuver awareness system on the vehicle’s dashboard or the use of historical reports showing the drivers how they can improve.

Driver management

Depending on the level of requirements, driver management could have different definitions and the solutions will vary. Driver identification is one of the most common requirements where afterward there could be enabled other options on top to expand the driver management overview.
One example of those options is a full overview of the historical performance by measuring the number of acceleration, braking, and turning events conducted by a driver, as well as the severity of the events and the distance traveled, Traffilog can build up a clear picture of driver’s efficiency and safety.
This could lead to enabling driver education and compensation to promote efficient driving or identifying drivers who may need more training behind the wheel. Another example is to increase safety awareness with the goal to reduce accident risks and empower drivers via better engagement.

Fleet administration

Fleet administration combines all tasks of a fleet owner/manager, from selecting the vehicles that fit the operations, operating these on a daily basis, and de-fleeting those at some point with all required documentation attached.
Throughout all that time, there is a need to complete mandatory vehicle-related tasks like service and maintenance, fuel management, safety checklists, managing responsibilities of employees, tracking usage, and more.
Managing fleet operations should be easier and more convenient, therefore, at Traffilog we provide several useful options for digital documentation, communication, checklists, and more.
Having all vehicle documents like leasing or insurance agreements come in handy when an unexpected situation occurs. Having information in a digital format helps to keep track and make informed decisions as well as share internally or with potential buyers.

Increased the safety of drivers and vehicles

Ensure peace of mind by knowing that you have secured optimal driver safety and operate vehicles that are safe to drive. Traffilog delivers solutions on multiple levels - from remote alert management to vehicle immobilization. Remote alerts are common to stay informed about issues that occur and require actions.
These alerts could be related to geofencing, driver safety events, mechanical issues, or others. Some alerts could trigger automated flows like reporting an issue to an assigned workshop to recuse repair costs or sending a collision detection report to damage control to reduce insurance costs.
The more advanced safety measures could include remote vehicle immobilization to prevent unauthorized vehicle usage, or the ability to lock/unlock vehicles based on certain conditions related to the vehicle’s state, location, or other.

Advanced vehicle monitoring

Advanced vehicle monitoring refers to the possibility to establish a remote link to vehicles 24/7 to enable multiple solutions for optimising daily operations, keeping a historical record of vehicle utilisation, remote assistance, integrated monitoring, and more.
The traditional and most commonly referred to use case is vehicle tracking. However, tracking is only one of the many possible use cases and also the simplest one where vehicles’ location can be followed in real-time or recorded in history for trip logging, reporting, analytics, alerts, etc.
Larger and more complex organizations require greater flexibility to run their operations. Therefore, a more suitable approach is the concept of integrated monitoring which aims to assist such customers to design a data-driven service system that adapts to their needs and enables more links, hence increasing the value of a solution.

Transition to EV operations

The transition to electric vehicles is new to almost every business or person. It has its characteristics and specific needs when selecting the right EVs, educating drivers, or optimising operations.
One of the most common concerns for businesses is range anxiety, or in other words, knowing whether they can perform their business as usual after they switch to EVs. Deciding this requires all possible considerations in advance and having all the required data to validate it.
Traffilog can assist in the transition process at any level, from planning and simulating the experience based on real-world data in different use cases, to running and optimising daily operations for EV fleets.

Powering up a unique variety of mobility solutions

Shared mobility
Leasing
Rental
Car subscription
Usage-based services

Keyless access

New mobility services aim to deliver better customer experiences. One of the first steps in planning those experiences is to consider how a customer can access and use the vehicle without having a key.
One example of a solution with keyless access that Traffilog has delivered is contactless shared vehicle services for car sharing, rental, and car subscription services implemented in different user applications or via APIs. Another example is the flexibility to secure remote control of vehicles for leasing and car subscription partners by enabling secure remote lock in cases of customer misconduct.
Due to the shared use case, ensuring the proper management of company fleets is also a good example of securing better operations after implementing keyless access. For instance, enabling only a specific employee to unlock a vehicle when booking a company car.

Collision detection

Collision detection is one of the solutions which we hope our partners would never use but is great to have in place in case an accident occurs. The system can detect collisions of different magnitudes, from the smallest bumps in a parking lot to a major accident. After a collision is detected, the system sends a detailed accident report to internal or external recipients specified by the operator or triggers a pre-defined flow.
Collision detection provides a different dimension when dealing with risk management in the mobility space. The ownership is not personal, hence the risk is spread across the stakeholders. In shared mobility, very often the small damages are overlooked by the driver. This creates a major issue for the operators and often leads to a poor customer experience for the next one.
Furthermore, increasing safety creates a positive customer impression, while it reduces costs.

Maximize uptime and revenue

Leveraging data to maximise uptime and revenue should be on top of the to-do list for every fleet and mobility operator. Depending on the issue at hand, there could be several aspects to consider ranging from scheduling and automating regular maintenance tasks like the change of tires, charging/fueling, to preventive and predictive alerts like early detection of user red flags, malfunctions, and more complex implementation like enabling dynamic pricing or pay-as-you-go options.
All of the above solutions are unique to the operations of every partner. However, the results could lead to a significant competitive advantage when it comes to operational efficiency, proactiveness, and high customer satisfaction, among some examples. While solving issues at hand, many partners also find new ways to bring innovative ideas to life.

Manage service providers

In today’s online-dominated world, people are increasing expectations of their service providers. Therefore, integrating vehicle data into daily operations will soon be a requirement for any modern service provider. Workshops, roadside assistance, insurance, parking, fuel/charge management, and other service providers are adapting to the needs of fleet and mobility operators to secure their role in the new data-driven environment.
There are multiple ways to manage the links to service providers and automate processes to ensure value-added services to create a better experience for customers and drivers. Traffilog is taking a different role in setting up such links depending on the project requirements and unique experience that our partners want to create.

Video telematics

Video telematics provides an additional layer of data and it is mostly used to create a more complete view of certain events. By using one or more cameras placed in the vehicle, operators can receive immediate video feedback before, during, and after specific events to assess why those events occurred.
There are multiple options to utilize video telematics as well as specific guidelines in place to make sure that it is the right choice for partners. Although many people may not be aware of this, video footage is actually overwritten on the device itself for most of the time and it is never saved. The footage is transmitted only when specific events occur and only for the seconds before, during, and after those.
Video telematics may be a good choice for businesses dealing with a high number of insurance claims, disputes, or operations in high-risk areas.

Business Intelligence (BI) reporting and tools

Traffilog’s BI reporting could take different forms, from sending standalone reports via email to automated white label reports based on multiple internal and external data sources.
The objective when designing the right solution is finding the optimal way to help partners and customers make more data-driven decisions and improve business performance. As in a usual BI reporting, we assess the individual needs of a partner or customer and prepare tailored reporting flows to fit the established operations.
BI reporting is a great choice when actionable insights or interactive analytics tools are requested as an integrated part of the solution. The idea is to provide everyone the opportunity to explore reports and get results with ease.
